He possessed all the qualities wanted in a leader

According to his supporters, Matlou has the capacity to serve the organization on a higher level and they are working hard to persuade branches to nominate him when the nominations of leadership and delegates to the conference starts this week.

They say the work Matlou had done as provincial chairperson of the ANCYL and as the regional chairperson of ANC in Mopani warranted his elevation to the ruling party’s provincial top five.

He added that Matlou’s presence in the ANC’s provincial top five will help take the organization to its former glory.

Matlou’s supporters are aiming for the top five post under the current chairperson Stan Mathabatha’s slate. Others expected to feature on Mathabatha’s slate are Vhembe Executive Mayor, Florence Radzilane, former provincial secretary, Soviet Lekganyane and the current treasurer, Danny Msiza.

Several attempts to contact Matlou for comment drew a blank as his cellular phone is constantly on voicemail.
